WORK PLAN

1. Support US government regulations and/or policies that provide foreign crew special visa status 

​

2. Support the establishment of onshore crew centers in Honolulu Harbor (Piers 16/17 and Pier 38 Fishing Village)

​

3. Refine and continue to implement minimum industry standards for vessel owners, crew, and manning agencies 

​

4. Continue to distribute employer’s code of conduct based on international and domestic fair labor guidance

​

5. Continue to distribute standard universal crew contract (translated)

​

6. Continue to distribute crew handbook (translated)

​

7. Continue to collect and maintain database of signed Letter’s of Assurance from vessel owners, captains, and crew 

​

8. Continue to implement Crew Grievance Mechanisms and continue to hold regular meetings of the Crew Grievance Committee  

​

9. Implement review standards and due diligence procedures

​

10. Engage with independent third parties to conduct social audits
